This role is accountable for supervision of Maintenance lifting operations and lifting equipment at the Stallingborough site. Specifically:

 

  • Providing day-to-day management and supervision of the Maintenance Rigging Team and supplementary contractors to safely execute the site maintenance schedule.
  • Providing a safe and healthy working environment for the maintenance teams, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety, health and environment legislation and company policies, procedures and standards.
  • Provide direction and allocation of work activities, ensuring compliance with site engineering standards, maintenance procedures and industry best practice.
  • Monitoring and improving maintenance KPI’s including schedule compliance.
  • Ensuring compliance to change management processes.
  • Provide Rigging representation at Operational Effectiveness & Review process (OE&R) meetings.


Main Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Ensures adherence with Lifting Equipment and Lifting Operations Regulations, in accordance with site procedures.
  • Provide front line leadership demonstrating Tronox values and behaviours.
  • Manage the Maintenance Rigging function in accordance with site HR policies.
  • Conduct individual performance reviews for the Maintenance Rigging Team and ensure alignment with Tronox Values.
  • Initiate and implement development plans for the Maintenance Rigging Team.
  • Supervise employees to execute rigging activities to a high work quality standard in accordance with Routine Workflow Management process and maintenance procedures.
  • Collaborate with other Supervisors, Leads and Coordinators to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, to budget and on time.
  • Support prioritised emergent maintenance activities.

 

Site Specific Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure all incidents, injuries and near misses are reported in a timely manner.
  • Lead or participate in Root Cause analyses (RCA’s) of incidents and accidents relating to your area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for coordinating / supervising with the external Engineering Surveyor.
  • Coordination of crane hire through external providers.
  • Responsible for the standards within the Maintenance Rigging Facility.

 

Qualifications/Skills

  • Higher National Certificate or Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant proven experience.
  • Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) certified.
  • Lift Supervisor trained.
  • Recognised Lifting and Rigging qualification.

 

Essential Skills & Competencies

 

  • Experience in the generation of lifting plans and supervision of lifting operations.
  • Working knowledge of current legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Knowledge of maintenance best practice.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Problem solving capability.
  • Computer literacy (i.e. MS Office/SAP etc.)
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal, to team members and management.
