Responsibilities:

Assisting in program planning and implementation of recreational sport programs, ice skating lessons, special events and day camps for children and youth (ages 6-15)

Supporting development of programs and services including researching trends to ensure delivery of leading edge programming

Assisting in the financial accountability including budget development, short and long term goal planning and financial management of your area’s of responsibility
- Recruiting, hiring and supervising staff and volunteers
- Developing and implementing in-depth training programs for staff and volunteers
- Completing of administrative tasks including scheduling, data entry, filing, and program administration

Maintaining the safety of program areas, equipment, and supplies

Ensuring safety protocols are followed for staff and users of the facility

Participating in the department seasonal and annual safety inspections, including updating WHMIS information and Safe Work Procedures

Managing participant behaviours in programs in collaboration with front line leaders
- Instruction of programs as needed
- Evaluation of programs both in-person and through surveys
- Returning all Customer Service inquiries within 24 hours

Taking on a supervisory role within the C&Y department to provide coverage, staff supervision and team collaboration when required
Qualifications:
- Current Alberta Approved First Aid training agency - CSA Standard Z1210-17 Intermediate First Aid
- Minimum of 3 (three) years of recreation program or day camp leadership experience

Minimum 2 (two) years of supervisory experience required

Post-secondary education in a related field

High 5 is considered an asset

NCCP considered an asset
- Perfect Mind Software knowledge is considered an asset
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Search required

Employment Term:
This is a year-round, full-time position, reporting to the Children & Youth Assistant Program Manager. This position will work approximately 37.5 hours/week on evening and weekends from Tuesday-Saturday.
